Portofino Bay Hotel

The Portofino Bay Hotel project is on the South side of Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida. Our contract with McDivett Street Bovis included the 130 foot railing on the sweeping white "Grand Staircase"; with it's special ordered birdcages, decor spiral spindles, rolled brass grab rail and a brass "Dixie Cap" (contoured flat top) top rail. Included it this contract were several "Birdcage Square Railings", which are the bronze colored railing, with a top rail made of a brass "Dixie Cap" and "Volute" end cap, throughout the hotel. In the lobby area you will see the bronze colored spiral spindle "Birdcage" railing with the decorative square castings, also topped with a "Dixie Cap" rail. The swirl top on the rail is representative of the ending of all stair rails throughout the hotel including the "Grand Staircase".
